The Ascent can haul up to eight passengers as standard with available second-row captain’s chairs offering seating for up to seven. The 2023 Ascent doesn’t, well, ascend to the top of our list, but the Ascent is still an overall attractive option in the midsize SUV segment that continues Subaru’s all-terrain prowess with standard all-wheel drive and an attractive starting price of $35,120.
